Nixon Reception | City View at Sterling Square | Evansville, Indiana

Kayce and Logan held their wedding reception at City View on Sterling Square here in Evansville, Indiana on September 4th, 2020. They eloped earlier in the year in the beautiful state of Colorado, and had even taken their honeymoon there, too! The newly married couple enjoyed the sweet simplicity and intimacy of sharing their vows alone together.

An Intimate Celebration with Loved Ones

They decided to later host a wedding reception at City View to celebrate with their closest friends and family members. Kayce was an absolute dream in her vintage, v-cut dress; the dainty straps and lace details were to die for. Logan was dressed to the nines in a navy suit with a dapper blue tie – the perfect picture of their wedding colors.

The new couple started off the evening by sharing the video from their elopement in Colorado. It was set amidst the backdrop of the mountains and filled with tranquil sounds of birds chirping and the breeze blowing softly. By the time the video finished, there wasn’t a dry eye in the room; everyone was touched dearly.

Later, the festivities continued with their reception dinner – catered by Pizza Revolution’s double decker bus, a local favorite! To bring their own creative twist to the menu, they offered ‘P.S. I love you’ as a flavor, complete with mozzarella, sauce, pepperonis and sausage. Dessert featured an elegant white cake, but pastries and cheesecakes were on display for guests too.

A Brief Romantic Escape

After the dancing had begun, Kayce and Logan escaped outside with me for a sunset walk. There’s nothing quite like the historic, industrial district in downtown Evansville. There were so many fun buildings and textures to capture – my favorite being the beautiful brick walls at City View.

As we walked down the street, Logan led Kayce in twirls as they danced among the pale-colored sky. They carried an easiness with each other, a true comfort and familiarity that showcased their love for another beautifully.

After we finished out sunset session, the couple let loose on the dance floor with their loved ones. It was such a fun evening and the fun continued long after I left their reception!
