Kate and Cooper Sandusky had their beautiful and glamorous May wedding at The Bell Tower in downtown Nashville, Tennessee. They were married on the first Saturday of the month and everything about the day was filled with beauty, emotion, and laughter. The bride and groom were both so laid back, and they wanted their day to reflect that. Above all, they wanted their big day to be focused on the people they loved and making memories with them. Truly.
I had full coverage of their day with Laura Hocking Photography and my sister-in-law Emily as part of my photography team that day. Everyone in the wedding was super emotional; they had a huge bridal party and they were laughing almost the whole day, which was SO fun to be around and pretty contagious! All their nieces and nephews were there, too, which just added to the fun! They also had so many sweet moments, too; Kate’s sister prayed over her with all her bridesmaids and then she & her brother recreated a photo from when they were little that they do at all formal functions.
Even though the day had a relaxed vibe to it, Kate and Cooper were super glam; it just came so natural. From the detail shots to the satin bridesmaid dresses, and all the elaborate detail work on Kate’s dress – it was like something out of a dream! Throw in the fact that Kate’s brother-in-law played music during their ceremony AND they had string quartet, it was absolutely picturesque. Somehow, even though Kate’s dress got caught on the stairs walking into the ceremony, she still pulled off the relaxed yet glam vibe – seriously!
Their live band was truly, one of the better wedding bands that I’ve heard while shooting and would highly recommend them (check vendor list below)! They kept the party going until almost midnight! This wedding was so so so so so fun and I was THRILLED to be a part of it! Thank you so much for the honor of capturing your beautiful May wedding at The Bell Tower – I wish you both the absolute best!
Favorite part of your wedding day?
Kate: I can’t pick one! But feeling your most beautiful, in your wedding dress, with your dad on one arm and the man of your dreams standing at the end of the aisle about to become your husband is pretty epic.
Cooper: seeing you coming down the aisle
What fun/special/sentimental moments from your day would you like to share?
Kate: Glamming up with my bridesmaids and mom – so much fun! My first look with my dad and my first look with my soon to be husband – those were two special moments that I will never forget!
Cooper: Kate’s dad tried to prepare me for seeing her before our first look, and he was crying his eyes out.
What advice would you give to other couples planning their wedding?
Both: Make the day about you and your future spouse – in the end you two are the only ones who will truly cherish that day forever.
